Creating Colour Relationships
Thursday, August 20, 2009
We rarely see colours in isolation. In this one day class we'll explore how shifts in hue, value, intensity, and temperature occur when two colours are hooked side-by-side. This workshop is for intermediate to advanced level rug hookers, or with permission from the instructor.
New Materials & Embellishments
Friday, August 21, 2009
A full day devoted to playing with new concepts, materials and techniques for rug hooking. Explore and experiment hooking with natural fibres and new materials like plastic. Delve into surface embellishment using hand embroidery, beading and metal.

Hand Hooked Rugs: Up Close and Personal
April 6-7, 2010

This workshop focuses on the processes used to create highly textured hand hooked rugs. Textured rugs combine a range of fabrics, hues and values to create depth, contrast, and harmony. You will learn how to design for hooked rugs; select appropriate materials; and how to mix fabrics and hues to create a dynamic textured rug.

To learn more about all the workshops offered and/or to register visit the VGFA website www.vgfa.org or contact Dani Lacusta danil@dmpibooks.com. The workshops are being held at Loon Lake www.loonlake.ubc.ca.  Please note: classes are open to everyone, however VGFA members will have priority registration.
